Sonia was going to drop by and pick me up at 10 AM. Knowing she’d likely be late, and me wanting to sleep in, I slept until I woke up – about 9:20 AM. I got ready to go and did some stuff online. She mentioned that she was running late and would be there around 11:30. She then said the owner of the house had to leave the house at 11:15 so she’d come as soon as possible. He then told me 11:30 which I didn’t relay on to Sonia as I knew she was going to come late anyway : ) As I ate some food the owner told me about his conversion. At one point I noticed that I only had about 7 minutes left and hadn’t packed up yet. I started packing quickly and could hear him getting ready to go. I knew 11:30 was a hard deadline, so I couldn’t slack off. I rushed, taking stuff to the front porch where I’d wait for Sonia. In some cases there were things I figured I’d organize out there and maybe pack away, but I’d had to do that after he left as I just needed to get stuff out of the house. Fortunately I only waited about 10 minutes for her. I reorganized stuff while I waited. I'm very careful to get everything before leaving a house or hotel. I hate leaving and losing stuff. I was careful but rushed as I left. Turns out I somehow left a mirror I'd had since high school. By the time I figured this out about a week later they'd already tossed it. : (
We drove north to meet with a couple we both knew. They used to live in the States. When I was a teacher she was one of the teachers at the school I worked at. When I went to HR her husband was one of our employees. So I had to see them. Traffic was horrible, but we made it in time to catch a sunset drive in James' convertible. Lots of great beaches near their house. I'm not huge on beaches, but I could definitely get used to their beach scene. So serene and peaceful.
After that Sonia and I drove to Avondale. I dropped her off at her cousin’s house then drove over to Avondale College to get me room. Not a bad room for a college guest room.
