I left Goulburn and drove to Sydney, Australia with plans to drop off my rental first. Getting low on gas I filled up about 45 minutes out. The “needle” stayed on "Full " up until I got near the turnoff so I topped off at the local BP just blocks from the rental car place. The pump cut off but I continued to add some to get me to $4. I had to keep adding in increments to get it there as it kept cutting off.
I drove to the rental car place and was shocked when the guy there told me it wasn't full. It had only just dropped below full recently, then I topped off even adding some after it kept cutting off on me, and here it was acting as though I hadn’t added any. I showed him the receipts and had him start the car just in case it hadn’t updated yet. Nothing. So I drove back and added gas even though it kept cutting out on me as though there was no room in the tank for more gas. I added $3.00+ to it, pretty much in $.25 increments as it would allow.
Sonia picked me up at the rental place and took me to the house I'd be staying at just up the road from the airport. They are family friends of hers. The house was in the flight path of landing planes, so when they flew over you could hear them in the house. They din't fly during nighttime hours, and I didn't hear them every day. I actually thought it was cool how close they came. They were so close my peanut allergies started acting up. Ok, I don't have peanut allergies, thank goodness.
We then drove to Bondi Beach, met up with her cousin Natalie for churros, then went out for Thai after Natalie had to part from us.
