After landing in Dubai on Thursday morning, February 5, I took a much-needed two-hour nap, then my friend from Dubai, Susan, and I headed out for the desert safari. Awesome way to kick off the trip!
Before hitting the dunes, all the tires were deflated Patriots-style, then off we went. The 45-minute trip to the "camp" involved fast driving over dunes with plenty of sliding, kicking up sand, and times where I thought we would roll. Awesomeness.
After the 45-minute drive (with a 10-minute break for pictures and to let the engines cool off) we arrived at the camp where there was traditional food and local entertainment. Oh and camel rides, a falcon demonstration, "thobe" dress-up and more.
