I woke up to sunshine and the promise of nice weather in the rest of the week, so I decided to camp the rest of my stay at Hot Water Beach instead of staying in a cabin. I found a spot in a small field down by a river but it was still mushy down there so I chose one in a dryer area. Off-season and a Sunday night, so there was no one on my lane. So quiet and the site was perfect. I really like this campground. I put off setting up the tent until the end of the day to give the ground as much time as possible to dry. I got online and got some stuff done until early afternoon, then headed to Cathedral Cove. I walked around, took a bunch of pics, then waited around to see if I could get some good sunset pics. I waited as the sun went down. Close to sunset I found myself alone on this great beach with this well-known natural icon. I had the whole beach to myself.
After about 30 minutes a couple came down. I talked to them and found out they were from Slovenia. Luka and Petra had taken pics there that morning but wanted to get some star shots so were back. Since they were going to be there for a few hours and since I was starving I headed back up the hill. I had stopped to take a pic along the way and was having trouble with it when I saw that they too were headed back to their car. I guess it was too cloudy to see many stars. We talked on the way back to our cars and for about 20 minutes in the parking lot before parting. We really clicked. One of my only regrets from this trip was not connecting with them on Facebook or some other way. They mentioned that they'd be in the area for another couple days as will I and will be in Sydney May 4th when I will be there, so maybe our paths will cross? I hope so. I really liked them!
